Women's Health
Within the view of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the disease process occurs due to excesses in lifestyle, unbalanced diet, intense emotions and invasion of external pathogenic factors, which generate “energy” imbalances that give rise to illnesses. I put the word energetic in quotation marks, because in fact, pathologies are due to imbalances in the Qi, Yin-Yang and the five elements, concepts of TCM that I will explain in another moment.
Acupuncture for women's health helps to improve many female complaints, such as: menstrual irregularities, PMS, menstrual cramps, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, among others. The purpose of acupuncture is to treat the energetic disharmonies that caused these changes.
It is extremely important to emphasize that follow-up with an acupuncturist does not replace periodic assessment with the gynecologist and prenatal consultation with the obstetrician. After all, TCM doesn't replace Western medicine, it complements it.
